President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has returned home to a warm welcome following a groundbreaking maiden official trip on the continental stage.

During his visit, President BBD took part in the prestigious CAF Impact Workshop, where critical reforms and opportunities to accelerate football development across Africa were discussed. His leadership was further recognized with his appointment to the CHAN Organizing Committee, placing Sierra Leone at the center of preparations for one of CAF’s flagship competitions, the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The SLFA President also joined fellow Member Association Presidents at the historic CAF 54 MA Presidents’ Strategic Round Table Meeting, attended by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The high-level dialogue addressed vital issues such as football infrastructure, financial sustainability, governance, and strategies to enhance Africa’s competitiveness on the global stage.

Accompanied by SLFA Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, President Babadi Kamara was formally introduced to key football executives and Member Association Presidents, strengthening networks and opening new doors for collaboration within CAF and FIFA.
Reflecting on the trip, President BBD said, “This was an invaluable opportunity to elevate Sierra Leone’s voice in African football and to ensure that our country is not only represented but respected on the global stage.”

He pledged continued efforts to drive reforms, boost grassroots football, and promote Sierra Leone’s rich football heritage internationally.
